Plan B: when you cannot find a millionaire to marry

Okay, so not all of us will succeed in find that perfect soulmate (that one person who will feed out bank account for the rest of our lives). It is now up to ourselves to make our own money! Now you'll be glad to have lots of free time at work! Just think - someone is paying you to learn how to make yourself rich! Life is too good!

With the world at our finger tips, we can learn all kinds of information! One crucial thing we should all learn is how to invest our own money wisely! (so we can all be self made millionaires!). Here are some suggestions of what you can do:

19. Learn how to Make smart financial investments

Check out the stock market: but please remember to do research on a stock before purchase - otherwise you can loose a lot of money. You can use many websites to do research on this. For example: yahoo finance, or you can sign up with online trading companies such as ameritrade or scottrade.

Tax Liens: season has just began. Many people claim this is the best kept secret. Tax lien is a process where the owner of the real property failed to pay his/her taxes, and the county/city will put a lien on the property. Anyone who has money can bid on this lien. If you are not familiar with this, just googol search it, and you'll become an instant expert. If you are scared, try to start with a geographic area you are familiar with.

Start a business from your basement: lets follow the example of Dell - and you never know what will happen. Just make sure it is something you are passionate about, otherwise you'll loose interest before you can market your first product!

these are just some starter examples - but for those of you who are looking for more ideas, you can check out reading materials such as the Entrepreneur Magazine.

How to Marry a Millionaire

It appears that everyone is obsessed with money. Most of those that claim they money is not important is simply lying! Otherwise, why are we all so obsessed with these brainless TV shows such as "The Fabulous Life of...", "It's Good to be..."and "My Super Sweet Sixteen" to name a few. These are shows that show how great it is to be rich and famous, but mostly, RICH! Worse, these are shows aimed for teenagers! These shows only demonstrate the lavish spending, but they convenient leave out how hard these individuals worked to get there. (expect for the few that were just lucky).

One thing is for sure, if you are reading this blog, that means you are bored at work. If you are bored at work, then it is highly likely that you did not marry a millionaire, so you cannot just walk off your job. No need to waste time just sitting infront of your desk, now you can use this precious time to score a millionaire of your own. (hey, if you can't beat them, why not join them)

17. Learn how to marry a millionaire.

Here's How:
1. Educate yourself. Study classical literature, music, and art. Like minds attract; if you don't know the difference between Debussy and Dickens, you aren't going to snag anyone with class.
2. Spend money. Money is attracted to other money. Your future spouse has to be able to see themselves with you.
3. Go to where the rich mix and mingle. You have to get yourself seen... Cut your hair, lose weight, get a manicure, and go for it.
4. Don't appear too eager. People are looking for a partner, not a dumb, air headed pom pon girl.
Rent a copy of "How to Marry a Millionaire" with Lauren Becall and Marilyn Monroe. Take notes.
5. If you get in a position where they are buying jewelry, cars, etc., for you, sell them and invest the cash! That way, if the relationship doesn't work out, you've already managed to save enough money to stop working.
6. Study business - the more you know, the better.
7. Above all, don't talk about money! Avoid the topic entirely or risk being thought of as a gold-digging whore. This is not the image we are going for.

Tips:
Remember... if you do get to the altar, pre-nups are NOT your friend!

Please remember me (pet insurance)

We all know the importance of having health insurance. It is very costly to go see doctors just for a regular checkup. Luckily, many of us have insurance through our work. Usually we will also cover our children or other non-working family members. However, many of us with pets (and many agree with me that our pets are members of our family), but many of us will not remember to purchase insurance for our pets. We often don't think about this, but our pets get sick as well, and if they do, the vet bill will also be ridiculously high. Pets are like humans, the younger they are, the cheaper their insurance. And many pet insurance companies will not allow you to purchase insurance once your pet reaches a certain age. Therefore, it is important to purchase insurance for your pet at a young age. And pet insurance will cover regular vet visits and most of their necessary shots.

14. Shop for insurance for your pet. (Usually, a regular insurance company also offers pet insurance)

Doing it the old fashion way

Do you ever wonder what people did to entertain themselves before the time of internet? Can you imagine a work place without internet? not being able to check your e-mail? how will you survive. I may not know how people entertained themselves the old fashion way (maybe everyone just did work), but here are some things you can do without a computer and internet. And for those without internet access - please do give any additional suggestions.

12. Entertain yourself the old fashion way.

a. Write a letter to your friends. No, I don't mean e-mail, but real letters, that you will have to out a stamp on it, and drop it in the mail box. In addition, your friends will be so surprised they will love you. (not to mention, you will look like you are working really hard drafting a document) Hint: write the "Dear ___" last, so it is not so obvious you are writing a letter.
b. Sodoku - be careful this can be addictive
c. With a little help of modern technology - text message - okay, so don't do everything the old fashion way.
d. Drink water non-stop, so you will keep on having to go the bathroom. (This will kill a lot more time than you realize - not to mention all the added time for trips to the water fountain)
e. Make you weekly grocery shopping list
f. Listen to music - with you cool new ipod, but a cassette player would do
g. Write your manifesto
h. Work on your penmanship
i. Day dream or stare at the wall
j. Practice how to take a nap while looking like you are reading intensely (my brother is very good at this)

Working when God is resting

It is the Sunday of the superbowl. If you are like most people, you are at home or at a friends house, getting food and drinks ready for the kickoff. However, if you work in a law firm in NYC, you maybe like me. Sitting here at the office on a perfectly good Sunday afternoon trying to meet some deadline. However, there is a trick to this... I am tring to get through life without doing anything. So just being able to sit at the desk, and look busy is an art in itself. It is important to position your computer strategically, to make you look like you are intensly emerged in your work. (even though you are just surfing the web)

9. Search for a new job. (if you are that bored at work, it tells you something - better move on to bigger and better things)

Here are some popular job search sites:

www.monster.com

switch to something new

With time on my hand, I now investigate on all the different blog hosts. And now, I decided to witch from yahoo. But that does remind me... one of the greatest thing to do is to while bored is to

7. start a blog.

here are some of the different ones you can use to start your own.

www.blogger.com/home
360.yahoo.com
spaces.msn.com
www.squarespace.com
www.cooeey.com
www.tagworld.com

those are just some to get you started. You can use anyone you like, and the preference is up to you.
Tips on how to pick: if you have a yahoo e-mail acount, or an yahoo account, and you want to link everthing together for you automatically, then you should use yahoo. Or if you DON'T want it to be linked to i.e. your e-mail, then it would be smarter to pick another site. Happy, blog shopping - and creating!
